Education

We devote resources to supplying information to FGM practicing communities about this practice as well as women and girl’s human rights. We emphasize on the potential psychological and physical impact of FGM on women and girls while citing its origin and the purpose.

We promote human rights and demonstrate the manner in which human rights are affected by FGM as we focus on the needs of women and girls while involving the entire community. Our organization collects all this information in an effort to promote social dialogue for the community to embrace abandoning the practice.

The Media

We work with the media to facilitate public dialogue about FGM globally. We collaborate with media outlets to discuss the right of women and girls to be free from FGM. Our advocates are already media personalities therefore they utilize their platforms to speak for the women affected by this practice by creating awareness about their challenges.

Empowering Women

Women cannot abandon FGM until they have the information, material conditions and skills to access different options. In most cases FGM is a prerequisite for marriage, women whose economic stability depends upon their ability to be married have no choice but to undergo FGM.

We bring down the barriers that prevent women from accessing credit and training. We provide women 6 weeks of training in leadership and business skills. We allocate our resources to ensure that girls receive equal education opportunities like boys in the same community.

Access to Reproductive Health Services

There is a major link between the practice of FGM and the need for reproductive health services for all women. This is a critical avenue for supplying women with information about their own reproductive health.

Women who understand the health consequences of FGM will be less likely to undergo the procedure or encourage their daughters to do so. Also, women who have already gone through the process have the greatest need for medical attention particularly during pregnancy, child birth and post-partum period.
